Sony just announced a new flagship phone. Called the Sony Xperia Z1,
it bundles premium features, stylish design, and a fully waterproof
construction.
Clad in a one-piece aluminum frame and durable tempered glass, the
handset should survive all your daily travails without incident. It's
also armed with dust and water resistance, so it should stand even more
adverse conditions than the typical day at the office offers. Phone
dimensions are 5.67 x 2.91 x 0.33 inches, with a weight of 6 oz.
Details of the Sony Xperia Z1 include a 5-inch Triluminous display
(1,920 x 1,080 resolution), a 20.7 megapixel camera (with G lens,
1/2.3-type Exmor RS CMOS image sensor), a 2.0 megapixel video cam out
front, aGPS, LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, 16GB of internal storage,
microSD card expansion, and a 3,000 mAh battery module. Muscle is
processed by a 2.2GHz quad-core processor, paired with 2GB Of RAM.
It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, along with a slew of Sony's
proprietary apps. These include the Xperia Camera Applications suite,
Info-Eye visual search, Social Live, Walkman and more.
The Sony Xperia Z1 will be available globally in black, white, and purple sometime this month. No pricing has been announced.
