A new all-touch Blackberry has been announced. Called the Blackberry Z30, it's the official successor to the Z10.
The new handset brings a lot of first to Blackberry. For one, it's
the first smartphone to come with version 10.2 of Blackberry 10 OS out
of the box, bringing the latest features of the manufacturer's
platform. WIth the market's move to bigger phones (iPhone 5S
notwithstanding), it also follows suit, with dimensions of 5.54 x 2.83 x
0.37 inches.
Details of the Blackberry Z30 include a 5-inch Super AMOLED display
(1,280 x 720 resolution), an 8.0 megapixel main camera, a 2.0 megapixel
front-facing video cam, aGPS, LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, 16GB of
onboard storage, and a 2,800 mAh battery. Muscle is provided by a
1.7GHz processor with quad-core graphics, paired with 2GB of RAM.
Notable features include the Blackberry Priority Hub, which
consolidates all your messages and notifications in one place; BBM
previews in all apps; stereo speakers reinforced with the Blackberry
Natural Sound; and a new antenna technology that dynamically tunes
reception for better connectivity in low signal areas. Blackberry
claims that the battery, combined with OS 10.2's power use enhancements,
can get users up to 25 hours of normal mixed use.
The Blackberry Z30 will debut under different carriers in various regions starting next week.
