HTC has finally announced the much-leaked supersized version of the
HTC One. Called the HTC One Max, it combines a supersized display with
the original One's premium design and high-end features.
As with the One, the device is clad in stylish aluminum construction
in a "glacial silver" finish, making it arguably the best-looking phone
(prettier than the Galaxy Note 3 -- at least, from the pictures) in the
growing phablet category. Dimensions are 164.5 x 82.5 x 10.29 mm, with
a weight of 217 g, so this is no easy pocket stuffer.
Details of the HTC One Max include a 5.9-inch full 1080p HD display,
an HTC UltraPixel camera (BSI sensor, smart flash and dedicated
ImageChip 2) in the rear, a 2.1 megapixel front-facing video cam, aGPS,
WiFi, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, DLNA, infrared, two storage options (16GB
and 32GB), microSD card expansion, and a 3,300 mAh battery rated at up
to 25 hours of talk time. Muscle is provided by a 1.7GHz quad-core
Snapdragon 600 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM.
Extra features include HTC's BoomSound audio, as well as a
fingerprint scanner in the back, allowing users to quickly lock and
unlock their phones by swiping their fingers, along with quickly
launching apps swiping your other fingers. It runs Android 4.3 with HTC
Sense 5.5, along with the roster of proprietary features like HTC
Blinkfeed, Sense Voice, HTC Zoe, and more.
The HTC One Max will be available across the globe beginning in the middle of October. No pricing has been listed.
